Recommendation and Method of Application

It is fed as a dry granulated material through a hopper for granular materials or manually. Feeding into bitumen boiler for further melting is not recommended can impede binder moving through a pipe. Batch period, including binder granules and pigment feeding, their melting and homogeneous mixing takes 1.5-2.5 minutes per batch, depending on the system.

* The rate of application depends on the desired level of coloring, between 30 - 50 Kg per ton of asphalt mix.

** Thorough mixing ensures pigments are evenly coated across aggregates and binder, delivering consistent color uniformity across all batches to minimize visible joints on large projects.

*** The pigment is injected directly into the mixing section of the asphalt plant drum mixer (where aggregates mix with the AC/bitumen). Once added, the asphalt pigment should be mixed for a minimum of 45-60 seconds at a minimum temperature of 150°C and a maximum temperature of 190°C.

**** Maintaining the correct temperature all the way through is essential to guaranteeing proper workability of the asphalt mix and effective blending of the colouring agent.
